About Lalita Lowe
Lalita Lowe is a designer, author and speaker whose work moves with quiet precision across fashion, craftsmanship and sustainability. Trained in design and shaped by experience in New York and Paris, her practice unites the discipline of couture with the purity of Tasmanian materials.
Guided by a reverence for fibre, Lalita’s philosophy begins long before the garment is made. She sees each piece as a dialogue between land, material and maker. From the stillness of Tasmanian farms to the ateliers that bring her collections to life, her work follows the poetic rhythm of Farm to Fibre to Fashion.
Her eponymous label celebrates simplicity and detail, creating pieces that feel timeless, tactile and resolved. Her recent collections, centred on superfine Merino, have been featured in The Mercury, Hobart and presented at the Tasmanian Fashion Festival as part of a new chapter for Australian design.
As the author of It’s Time to Rethink Your Fashion: Creating a Better Future, and as a TEDx speaker, Lalita invites reflection on the true impact of what we wear. Through her talks and writing, she opens a conversation on beauty, integrity and the role of fashion in shaping a more conscious world.
In recognition of her contribution to sustainable practice and her commitment to ethical innovation, Lalita received the WCEI / Les Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises Mondiales Award for Sustainability in Business, a distinction that honours women redefining excellence through purpose.
In Lalita’s world, fashion is an act of care, intellect and restraint. Each collection, each word, is an invitation to see clothing not as consumption, but as culture.
