RMIT Fashion Advisory Board
It was an honour last week to attend my first RMIT Advisory Board meeting for the fashion, textiles and styling programs. RMIT is the leading University for fashion and textiles in Australia and is recognised globally as the 12th leading institution.
The Board Advisory group is a mix of current RMIT staff and heads of department, industry representatives and independent fashion and styling business owners. Aside from current staff, each of us were RMIT alumni.
The purpose of the Board is to review and discuss the current programs to remain relevant and evolve with the future directions and priorities of the fashion and textiles sector.
I often read about and contemplate the current trends impacting the fashion industry both within Australia the wider global network. Technology has had a major impact and will continue to disrupt the way we create and also the way the end user consumes fashion. Its imperative that we be addressing this and taking action to adapt.
I’m looking forward to being more involved in this area.
